Self-opening cover for shallow and transition water
The Fortress arrives ready to place and opens into dense, intricate freshwater fish habitat after the ties are removed. Its flexible reclaimed PVC limbs create tight refuge for fry and forage fish, wider travel spaces for growing fish, and textured surface area where algae and periphyton can develop.
Fortress specifications
- 45 inches tall
- Recommended freshwater depth: 3–8 feet
- Opens to approximately 6 feet in diameter
- Approximately 85 square feet of habitat surface
- Approximately 15 pounds
- Made from reclaimed PVC material destined for landfills
No added weight or anchor needed
The Fortress is self-weighted with cement built into Fishiding's patented design. No separate ballast, anchor, tools or assembly materials are required. Remove the ties, shape individual limbs if desired, and place the unit in a pond, lake or reservoir.
The flexible, snag-resistant branches move with the water and form cover from the lake bottom upward. Years of Fishiding underwater observation document freshwater fish of all species using this varied habitat for shelter, feeding and movement.
