Drop-in shallow refuge that holds fish right under your dock
Give fry and forage fish dense, varied shelter in shallow water with two finished habitat mats. Each Legacy mat carries nine interchangeable habitat units, so one placement creates a connected complex of fine and wide reclaimed PVC cover.
Two mats, eighteen habitat units
- 336 pounds of total completed weight; cement integrated into the patented design
- Nine habitat units per mat in six rounded and three square compartments
- Habitat heights range from 3–5 feet; more than 40 square feet of habitat surface per unit
- Recommended freshwater depth: 4–10 feet
- Each mat opens to approximately 6 by 7 feet
- Reclaimed HDPE and reclaimed PVC
How hard is installation?
Press each habitat unit into its compartment for a friction fit—no cement mixing, ballast or anchor. Kerry Lorig reported her three mats were easy to install with the drop-in compartments and the fish are everywhere. Bend selected limbs by hand and leave others upright for varied height.
Will it survive a rough shoreline?
Sherry Henderson reported hers staying in place on a wave-crashing lakefront with fish around them all the time, and Hank Kent reported the same in waves and current.
For another shallow mat style, compare BassGrass; for deep-water holding cover, see the Stalker mat.
